Check a Canadian job offer before applying
Find the original vacancy, verify the employer and decide what information to share before an application.
Find the original source
Start with the employer’s public website or an identified employment service. Find the vacancy and compare its title, location and deadline. If a message brought you to the offer, do not treat its link alone as proof: search for the organisation separately. A missing advertisement does not definitively establish fraud, but calls for verification.
Compare the written conditions
Record the contract type, duties, workplace, salary if stated and application method. Ask for clarification when versions contradict each other. Do not infer pay from a job title or assume a vacancy guarantees a work permit.
Check unusual requests
Pressure to pay, transfer money or immediately provide sensitive documents warrants independent verification. The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre documents several employment scam patterns. Use independently located public contact details to check the request.
Limit what you share
Send only what the application stage needs through a verified channel. HiCanadian collects neither résumés nor identity documents. Official procedures concerning the right to work remain separate from the publication of a vacancy.
Keep a record and report problems
Keep the original link, consultation date and useful correspondence privately. If an offer on HiCanadian appears inaccurate or expired, report its URL through the contact form. These practical checks reduce uncertainty; they do not certify an employer or an administrative decision.
