Cookies and local storage

Last updated: October 11, 2026.

Functional cookies

The site uses functional cookies: the language preference remembers whether you chose the French or English version. Authentication and security cookies serve only connected administration accounts. These elements keep the site working rather than tracking you for advertising.

Optional Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager loads a single Google Analytics 4 measurement tag after you choose “Allow analytics”; loading stays blocked before your choice and after a refusal. GA4 measures which pages of this site are viewed and receives the page address without query parameters or fragment, the referring address without parameters, and technical details such as device, browser, language and approximate location. Google is the recipient and may process this data outside Canada; the connection IP address and pseudonymous cookie identifiers are involved. GA4 sets a first-party _ga cookie and _ga_* cookies that expire after at most 180 days and are not extended by later visits; user-level and event data used for detailed analysis have a 2-month retention setting. This setting does not limit the retention of standard aggregated reports. No advertising, Google Signals, User-ID feature, user-provided data or advertising profile is used. Contact, search, error pages and addresses with query parameters are excluded, and no form content, income, budget amount or checklist progress enters the data layer.

Arrival checklist

The arrival checklist stores only step identifiers in local storage under hc-arrival-v1, after you explicitly save. You can stop saving, erase this data or clear your browser storage. No server transmission is made from this checklist. Be careful on a shared device.

Shared addresses

Budget expenses, city and profile may appear in a shared web address. Income is excluded from it. Browser history and server logs can keep these addresses. Share a link only with people you trust.

Manage data on your device

Your browser settings let you inspect cookie expiry, delete cookies and block their storage. Blocking may prevent language preferences or administrator sign-in from working. Checklist local storage remains until you or the browser clear it; the site defines no automatic expiry for it.

Your choices and retention

Your choice to allow or reject is kept in local storage under hc-consent-v1 for up to 180 days, then requested again. “Privacy choices” lets you change your choice and withdraw permission. If the browser blocks storage, your choice may apply only to the current page. Refusing, withdrawing or letting the choice expire also expires the _ga and _ga_* cookies of this site; only those measurement cookies are removed, not your language preference or checklist storage.
